Run Club Spotlight: NoMa Run Club
For this week's Run Club Spotlight, we are highlighting our friends in NoMa. The NoMa Run Club is one of the top recommended clubs you see when you look on Reddit, and it is because they are a chill group who loves running and beer, maybe not even in that order.

What makes NoMa Run Club different from other running groups?
We are a group of runners who want to prioritize the social aspect of running and of course our love of great beer. We describe our group’s vibe as ‘chill and social’!
When/Where does the group meet?
Mondays: 6:45pm at REI for 5k, 4.5 mile, and 6 mile options
Wednesdays: 6:45pm at Lost Generation Brewing for hill repeats
Thursdays: 6:45pm at Lost Generation Brewing for a 5k on the MBT
Saturdays: 8:30am at REI for a 5k or ~7 mile options
Mondays are our most popular with sometimes over 100 runners. Thursdays and Saturdays have between 20-40 runners and Wednesdays usually around 10-20
What is the mix of runners and who thrives in your group?
NoMa Run Club welcomes runners of all levels and experiences. The type of runner who thrives in the group is one who is looking for a way to meet friends and be more consistent in their running. A lover of beer and pizza is a plus too!
Walk us through a typical run.
A typical run starts off with some announcements from one of our leaders, a group photo that will be posted on Instagram, then groups are formed for each of the distance options. The groups are then staggered and everyone ends at a brewery or Andy's pizza for some food, beers, and social time!
What should first-timers know before showing up?
Just show up! No need to reach out unless you have specific questions. On Mondays we offer a wagon for any extra jackets or small items that you don't want to run with, but we suggest only coming with things that you are comfortable running with. During the winter, we suggest wearing lights or a reflective vest and during the summer, we suggest a water bottle or hydration vest.
Share a tradition that captures what NoMa Run Club is all about.
We have an annual Beer Run in the fall, where over a route of around 5-6 miles or so, we run to a bunch of different breweries in NoMa and the surrounding neighborhoods for a beer at each stop. It's a ton of fun!
