Stay Hydrated: Functioning Drinking Fountains in the DMV

With summer heat on its way, we are tracking drinking fountains around the area to help you plan your long runs. After checking out Rock Creek Park and the National Mall, I have found that most water fountains are on and the pressure is good. Some notable exceptions include the fountain in front of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, north of the Washington Monument Visitor Center, and at the intersection of 15th St NW and Constitution Ave NW.

We are going to keep updating the map as we locate more drinking fountains, and if you spot any, shoot them my way via email (newsletter@thecapitalrunner.com) or by filling out this form.

I am hitting some routes in Maryland and Virginia this weekend, so we will have some more data coming soon.

Thank you to everyone who has helped populate this list!
