Run Club Spotlight: Nice Jewish Runners DC

For this week's Run Club Spotlight, we caught up with Nice Jewish Runners DC, a Dupont Circle-based group that's open to everyone — Jewish or not — as long as you're welcoming, friendly, and up for coffee after the run.

When/Where does the group meet?

We meet near Dupont Circle on Sunday mornings. Visit our Instagram to learn more.

What makes Nice Jewish Runners different from other running groups?

We are DC's only Jewish run club. Not all of our run club members are Jewish, but all are supportive and respectful of our community.

Our group is welcoming and inclusive, and meant for runners of all levels. We all enjoy running, but also socializing and creating community. We meet for coffee after our runs, host social events periodically, and support runners during local races. You also do not have to be Jewish to come, you just have to be nice, and want to be a part of our community.

What is the mix of runners and who thrives in your group?

We welcome all levels of runner, including those just getting into running. Depending on the week, we have 20-30 attendees. We have grown a lot over the last year.

Runners who are welcoming, friendly, and open to meeting new people will thrive in our group.

Walk us through a typical run.

At the start, we talk for a few minutes and socialize, welcome newcomers, and then make announcements about upcoming events and route.

We do a social/casual 3-ish mile run, followed by coffee.

What should first-timers know before showing up?

Follow us on Instagram at @nicejewishrunnersDC. We request that runners join our Heylo group - the link can be found in our bio. For safety reasons, we request that all members sign up on Heylo for verification. Please feel free to direct message the Instagram account with any questions or concerns.

How can people find you and get involved?
