Mount Vernon Trail Reopens After Shoreline Repair

The stretch of the Mount Vernon Trail that has been closed between East Abingdon Drive and 3rd Street is back open as of last week.

A shoreline embankment repair project along that section has wrapped up, and trail users no longer need to detour along East Abingdon Drive.

According to the Friends of Mount Vernon Trail, the shoreline is now reinforced with large rocks.

If you've been avoiding that section, it's time to put it back in the rotation.
