Mark your calendars for the 13th annual Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education on Sunday, September 20, 2026. This event, hosted by the Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® in collaboration with the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation, Inc. (PIEF), honors the 40th anniversary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® founder Norma E. Boyd’s passing.

The 5K race will be held at Calleva Farm in Dickerson. The course offers views of horses, hayfields and a big, red barn – you can’t get more country than that in Montgomery County! And breaking a long-standing MCRRC tradition, the race features a downhill finish. The location is in the far west end of the county, so please be sure to map it and allow extra travel time to get there.

Join Food for Others as we race against hunger at our annual 5K & Fun Run!

Your race registration supports Food for Others, a food bank and pantry in Fairfax County who serves as one of the largest providers of free groceries in Northern Virginia.

The race begins just before sunrise, at 6:45 AM, on a scenic Montgomery County road and quickly transitions into a tour of beautiful Rock Creek Park. As you run through the park, you’ll experience the sun rising through the tree cover and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.

The Columbia Classic 10K & 5K returns to Downtown Columbia, MD with an exciting new race experience for 2026. This year's updated course takes runners on a fast and scenic route around the iconic Columbia Mall, showcasing the vibrant heart of Downtown Columbia while delivering a fun and accessible challenge for athletes of all abilities.

Jog N' Jam is an inspiring event dedicated to promoting mental health and wellness. Run (or walk) a 2.5K, 5K, or 10K.

RUN! GEEK! RUN! is an annual, charity 5K run/walk race, on a USATF certified, flat and fast course. We also have a 1-mile Fun Run option. Truly a community event - hosted by an Alexandria nonprofit, supported by local schools and organizations, and benefiting a different Alexandria-based non-profit each year. Our 2026 beneficiary is the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria.

Our scenic 5k route is along Sligo Creek Parkway and Sligo Creek Trail. The route is stroller-friendly, and walkers are welcome to attend.

The National Capital 20 Miler is Washington, DC’s premier fall marathon tune-up race. Taking place on the C&O Towpath, the race offers runners a flat, fast out-and-back course with water and nutrition support at regular intervals. All runners receive race swag.

Settled deep within Green Ridge State Forest’s 48,000-plus acres, Fire on the Mountain Ultra Marathon measures approximately 32.8 miles and features an out-and-back course style similar to the beloved Catoctin 50K. And…our Race Director (RD) says this course doesn’t run like any ol’ “out-and-back” course, because the experience in the reverse direction, especially the final quarter of the race, is a whole different experience than the first quarter of the race. Come on out and try a training run if you don’t believe it.

The City of Rockville, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC), welcomes all to participate in this fall running tradition. The 10K and 5K run along the streets of the King Farm community for a scenic and challenging, yet rewarding, course. It is an ideal venue to cap off your summer/fall training and kick off the upcoming winter running season.

This 50 mile trail run showcases the beauty of both the Seneca Greenway and Muddy Branch trails in Montgomery County, Maryland. The course traverses forested, rolling terrain on a primarily single track, dirt trail.  There are small stream crossings.  Most of the course drains well, but parts can be muddy in wet weather.
